February 2012 Competitions

This month we have a HedCamz wearable camcorder worth £149.99 and four pairs of Breenies, a new range of socks for wellington boots, or fur trims to give away.

CANDID CAMERA

HedCamz in action

FOR any rider subjected to terrifying experiences involving motorists, the HedCamz thumb-size, wearable camcorder provides the ability to capture such incidents on film – and one Equestrian reader can win the clever device, worth £149.99.

This piece of technology can record what is said in an exchange with motorists, as well as engine noise and details of the car make, model and registration number, which can be taken to the police if needed and used in the event of prosecution.

It is fully self-contained, with a built-in battery that gives one-and-a-half to two hours’ filming in 720p HD mode. It takes MicroSD cards up to 32GB and hours of 720p video footage. The card is simply removed and the footage played back on a laptop.

The camcorder, which requires no complicated fitting and securing, comes with a range of lightweight, close-fitting, secure mounting options. These can be used on your helmet harness or you can fix the HedCamz directly on to your helmet or bridle. It is so small and light, at 32.5g, you don’t know it is there and neither does your horse.

Additionally, the camcorder is impact-resistant, encased in a lightweight rubber moulding, waterproof to 10 metres and comes with a mains charger and 4GB MicroSDHC card.

WALLOW IN YOUR WARMER WELLIES

Breenies

FOUR lucky Equestrian readers have the chance to win a pair of Breenies, a new range of socks for wellington boots, or fur trims. Breenies are the brainchild of Sam Penn, who grew up in a family in the shoe business. With fashion and footwear in her blood, she identified a gaping hole in the market for a truly British-made fashion item, as well as an increase in the popularity of wellington boots.

Sam’s vision and creativity have resulted in Breenies, which are made from a fleece material that has thermal qualities and, because of its texture, add extra comfort.

All Breenies – for the fashion-conscious welly boot wearer – are designed to be seen with fur trims or just a plain turnover. New colours and trims are being added throughout the seasons.

The socks are available in ladies’ fleece colours black, navy, red, bottle green, lilac, turquoise, bordo and yellow, and ladies’ fur cuff colours black, grey, cerise, leopard and wolf.

For children, socks are available in fleece colours black, navy, red, bottle green, lilac, turquoise and yellow, and fur cuff colours black, grey, cerise and leopard.

Four winners can each choose socks, worth £15, or cuffs, which sell at £25, from the Breenies website, www.breenies.com.
