17 June 2009
Introducing a truly unique program where the focus in on the "Equestrian as an Athlete"
Equicision are flying into the UK for the first time to present at the second Annual Bolesworth Classic where they will be on hand to help and advise members of the general public who wish to participate and benefit from their research. They will be situated on Stand Number Seven. This prestigious Show is providing Equicision with the platform for their UK Launch.
Mike Pilato and Danny Warrington have formed Equicision, the first of its kind programme to combine Sports Medicine Science with the art of riding to address the physical and performance needs of the equestrian athlete. They are inviting interested athletes to visit www.equicision.com and access the variety of programmes and downloads that are available there that further address specific areas of concern Mike who is a NATA Certified athletic trainer can also be contacted direct with any questions and queries through the site.
In 2006 Mike presented his preliminary program and research to a packed BHS event. In 2008 Danny was invited to the United States Eventing Association Annual General Meeting where his presentation on falling safety, which included Mike's research, was met with great approval by Lucinda Green. The Equicision programmes complements existing techniques and adds value to physiotherapy and other treatments applied.
Both Danny and Mike are visiting the UK again in September and attending Burghley Horse Trials in order to meet up with further interested parties, and help riders with issues they may have regarding their riding performances
Many riders feel that their hours and years of hard work are affected by the handicap of persistent pain caused by old injuries and aggravated by participating in what they love most, and need help. Similiarly many riders want to prevent the possibility of injury before they even mount, and this is where the training of their muscle groups comes in. Developing the body to withstand specific wear and tear is now possible thanks to the research done, and is smarter than treating the area after the injury has occurred and time lost.
